TOHATA Quality Management System (ISO9001)

Properly identify the demands of our clients and society and offer architecture full of great ideas through unyielding efforts.

The quality policy of Tohata Architects & Engineers is to "properly identify the demands of our clients and society and offer architecture full of great ideas through unyielding efforts." We established the Tohata quality management system under this policy and acquired ISO9001 certification, an international standard, at all group companies.

The Tohata quality management system is a thorough checking system conducted at all processes including planning, design, support for contracts on construction, supervision, and customer services by adjusting the methods of design and supervision that we have accumulated and polished through the company history of more than 80 years to suit ISO9001.
Internal design reviews (DR) are conducted at five steps including DR0, DR1, DR2, DR3, and DR4 specifically for the design and supervision processes. The entire company, rather than project teams alone, is involved with operations such as the organization of proper teams, proper identification and materialization of the demands of our clients and society, the verification of design quality reflected in architecture, and long-term support for the maintenance and management of architecture.

The Tohata quality management system is not an inflexible system. We established a FB (feedback) system to improve the system on a daily basis. FB categories include "quality FB" for improving the system, "project FB" for improving design quality in project operations, and "client FB" for gathering information on clients. All employees are involved these three scenes. The submitted FB information is audited in the management review organized by administrators, and measures of improvement are being conducted.
